A driver, who was likely street racing, lost control on northwest Houston road and died after hitting a pole, according to a report from KTRK.

The driver of the Dodge Viper died when he was speeding down Cunningham near Little York in an area known for street racing, investigators said in the report. The vehicle flipped, hit a pole, which split his vehicle in two and then fell over, according to KTRK.

A passenger survived and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the report said.
