Tolerance

I had an incredible evening last night. I went to a Dedication Ceremony for Tolerance on Harmony Walk. A bridge and art exhibit inspired by the experience of my former client David Ritcheson. I miss him and only wonder what he would be like if not for the terrible hate crime he had to endure. Philanthropist and all around great lady, Mica Mosbacher spear headed the idea of this artistic tribute to tolerance as a result of the affect David’s story had on her. After years of thought and effort with the help of city officials and artist Jaume Plensa, a wonderful tribute to the importance of tolerance was dedicated today.

If you get the chance – go by the north side of Allen parkway at Montrose Blvd. in Buffalo Bayou park. Jaume Plensa created seven stainless steel human figures representing the seven continents . They include stainless steel alphabet mesh, representing 9 different languages. A crosswalk was also constructed to “bridge” the gap between all people. It was a wonderful tribute to David and his family and I was honored to be a part of it.
