Officials are still investigating what caused the explosion around 7:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Refining System near 100 Traffic Circle at Red Bluff, said authorities with the Pasadena police, who were assisting at the scene.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly, but there was heavy smoke in the area, authorities said.
No chemicals were believed to have been released, authorities said.
The identity of the injured person was not released, but officials said the injuries were not life-threatening.
