Well, it is Friday and as we head into the weekend The Leon Law Firm https://www.theleonlawfirm.com wants to talk baseball. And because things sometimes come in 3’s – so will this blog.
First – The Astros started this season on the road and they limp into Minute Maid Park with a 1-5 record for the home opener vs the Florida Marlins tonight.
The game marks the beginning of the 50th season of Major League Baseball in Houston which started back in 1962 with the Colt 45s.
Second – The date of tonight’s contest, April 8th is also the anniversary of Hank Aaron’s 715th career home run. I believe that Houston Astros radio broadcasting legend Milo Hamilton had the call in that game.
Third- Frank Robinson debuted as the first black manager in the majors for the Cleveland Indians back in 1975 on this date. In his first outing as a manager, he recorded a “w” versus the New York Yankees.
