Police are searching for a man who allegedly crashed his motorcycle and then rode away on another one, leaving behind his critically-injured female passenger early Friday morning in Pasadena.

The wreck happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 4400 block of Fairmont, said Vance Mitchell, spokesman for the Pasadena Police Department.

Mitchell said the man was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Fairmont when he lost control after apparently hitting a wet spot in the road. His passenger, who was not wearing a helmet, fell off the motorcycle during the wreck, Mitchell added.

Mitchell said the man’s uncle was following the pair on another motorcycle and stopped when he saw the wreck. The man jumped on his uncle’s motorcycle and drove away, Mitchell added. His uncle remained at the scene.

The woman was flown by life medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. She is in critical condition.

Mitchell said police know the name of the man and are searching for him. The relationship between the man and woman is unclear. Police are investigating the case.
